This spice mix from Crown National is one of the most popular in South Africa and offers an authentic taste for homemade biltong.

• Flavour Profile: A salty blend that is rich in coriander and black pepper. It also has notes reminiscent of onions.
• Versatility: Although designed for biltong, it can also be used excellently for seasoning barbecue meat (Braai), stews, and soups.

Salt, Spices, Flavouring (including Celery, maize flour, and sugar), Flavour Enhancer (Monosodium Glutamate/MSG), Colourants, Hydrogenated vegetable fat, Preservative (Potassium Sorbate).

Preparation of Biltong with this Seasoning:

For preparing biltong with this mixture, it is recommended:

• Calculate quantity: Use approximately 45g of seasoning per kilogram of meat.
• Optional vinegar: Add 50–100 ml of vinegar or Worcestershire sauce per kilogram of meat, as desired.
• Marinate: Mix the meat thoroughly with the spices, cover it, and leave it to marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
• Dry: Subsequently, hang the seasoned meat up to dry (ideally in a biltong box).
